For a bye- election to be held to fill the vacancy, ten local government electors for the Parish of Nettlestone and Seaview must give notice on or before Wednesday 1st September 2010 to The Returning Officer, Isle of Wight Council, County Hall, Newport, Isle of Wight, PO30 1UD. If notice is not given as mentioned above, Nettlestone and Seaview Parish Council will proceed to fill the vacancy by co-option.

From 1st September 2010 the Isle of Wight Council are transferring Sandlands Allotments to the Parish Council, a process which has taken in excess of eighteen months,. It is hoped that the rent increases that had been proposed by Isle of Wight Council will not be implemented in the first year. In view of the shortage of time between the final decision and the transfer there may be a short delay in contacting allotment holders. The next meeting of the Parish Council will take place on Monday 13th September in St Peter’s Hall, Seaview commencing at 7.00pm. As with all meetings, everyone is welcome to attend and make comments and ask questions on local matters.
