At the recent meeting serious concern was expressed about the recent flooding, particularly on The Duver, which had originated from the land behind and not from the sea. There had also been no warning, despite several residents being registered with the Environments Agency’s Floodline Warnings Direct service.

Members heard from the Local Police Community Support Officers who reported on, amongst other concerns, the continuing theft of property from unlocked motor vehicles, particularly in residential areas. The need to secure all property and be vigilant was re-emphasised. A local forum, made up of volunteers, is to be formed in the New Year. One of the aims will be to develop a list of priorities on which PCSOs will act. Anyone interested in assisting should contact the Clerk, Mike Parsley on 562257 or via email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

There was also an interesting presentation from Martin Gibson of Natural Enterprise on the ‘Green Towns’ initiative which the Council will consider at the next meeting which takes place at 7.00pm on December 20th in St. Peter’s Hall. All residents are welcome to come along and ask questions or make comments on matters of local concern. The January meeting will be held one week early in the Masonic Hall, where most future meetings will take place, on 11th January starting as usual at 7.00pm.

The Parish Council wishes everyone a Very Merry Christmas and a

Happy and Healthy New Year
